DOSBox 0.70 is now available.

A new release of DOSBox is out. It offers improved performance over the previous release. The new auto CPU core really works well with Moo2.

Here is my dosbox.conf file. The highlighted items are the ones I changed for performance and sound.

most of the options you highlight are of the experimental build of ykhwong.

you might want to refer people to the official 0.70 build as that one should work fine as well.

Yes, I corrected it. I posted my dosbox.conf that I used for the CVS build. Either way the extra config entries are ignored on DOSbox 0.70 so no harm done.

There's a new version of Dos box available now.

I noticed you haven't been posting much lately. Losing interest in MOO2?

Ya DosBox 0.72 is out. Not much new there though. No impact to Moo2.

I'm pretty busy these days. Not much time to post. I still find time to play moo2 online at least once a week :)

Hmm, wouldn't it be better to use GUS audio? Less CPU overhead and all that... seems to work better on my comp.

Anyway, great job with the patch. MOO II without the money bug is a huge improvement :D

FYI for new/returning space emperors: The fastest, most basic way for WinXP users to get in and play a campaign against AI opponents (NOT human opponents): Stick the CD in; install Windows version; apply the 1.31 patch (see Brazen's links); change Compatibility Mode settings in shortcut icon's properties; run DXDIAG to disable direct draw and hardware acceleration; and play. See Brazen's forum if you need more help!

I installed your patch.

I am having issues with DOSbox and would like to know if any of your bug fixes are still fixed when instead of running your EXE file, I run ORION95.EXE ?

My patch only addresses the bugs in the DOS version of the game. The windows version of the game has its own bugs (oddly most are different than the DOS bugs).

Hi
great blog and good information provide by you
Facebook welcome page is where it signifies what is in store for your users, and there is a hell lot of competition, and following such simple patterns of Facebook sharing will provide a lot of impetus on promotional purposes, where custom designed fan pages can be made accessible, and as for celebrities this works wonders.

i use your patch for years already :) great stuff

sadly i cant get teh sound to work on dosbox, i am on that for 2 days now and getting more and more frustratted, i got mostly your settings, those yellow marked overall.

Well it took me a day to get it to work at all, 1-2 days more or less for sound ... worth it
